Decal Acquires Horror Thriller ‘Abyzou’ From Millennium Media – Cannes – Deadline
EXCLUSIVE: Decal has acquired the US rights to the horror thriller from Millennium Media Abyzou out of the Cannes market, with plans to hit theaters later this year.
In Abyzou, the son of a Jewish undertaker returns home, hoping to reconcile with his Orthodox father, accompanied by his pregnant wife. But his intentions are tested when the family morgue receives the body of a mysterious corpse containing an ancient entity with a sinister plan for its unborn child.
Nick Blood (Agents of SHIELD), Emm Wiseman (Winchester), Allan Corduner (Country) and Paul Kaye (game of thrones) star of director Oliver Park’s film. Hank Hoffman scripted it from the story he wrote with Jonathan Yunger of Millenium. Millennium Media’s Hoffman, Yunger, Jeffrey Greenstein, Les Weldon, Sam Schulte and Yariv Lerner produced, with Millennium Media’s Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson and Tanner Mobley serving as executive producers.

Decal is an independent distribution company owned by Neon and Bleecker Street, which launched in February last year. The company’s recent releases include the Trent O’Donnell comedy-drama Mount the eagle, with JK Simmons and Susan Sarandon; the SXSW road trip comedy stop and go, from directors Mallory Everton and Stephen Meek; and Naveen Chathapuram’s neo-western, The last victim. The sci-fi comedy was also acquired by Decal at Cannes 2022 I’m totally fine by director Brandon Dermar.
Senior Vice President. Ayo Kepher-Maat brokered the deal for Abyzou on behalf of Decal, with Millennium’s Younger and Schulte on behalf of the filmmakers.
