New Delhi [India]March 21 (ANI): Ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli has a special connection with mythology.
Whether it’s “Simhadri” released in 2003 or “Baahubali” in 2015, there has always been an element of mythology in Rajamouli’s films. His upcoming period drama is no different.
Speaking about his love for this particular genre at a press conference in Delhi on Sunday, Rajamouli told ANI, “I am deeply influenced by mythology. Including her in my projects has always been a very subconscious decision as I grew up in my childhood. listening to the stories of my grandparents’ mythology.”
He added: “It’s completely in my blood. Everything that goes in, comes out. I have so much mythology input, it comes out in my stories in different forms. I’m very proud of that.”
For the uninitiated, director Rajamouli’s “RRR” is a fictional story inspired by Telugu freedom fighters Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. The film explored a blind spot in history for a cinematic spectacle, as there seems to be no trace of what happened in the lives of these freedom fighters when they were away from home.
Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn star in the film, which hits theaters on March 25. (ANI)
