Urdu National Science Congress concludes at CUK
Srinagar, September 24: The two-day “National Science Congress in Urdu-2021”, organized by the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) in association with Vigyan Prasar, at Gandhi Bhawan, University of Kashmir, ended here on Thursday.
Hundreds of distinguished delegates and experts from Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country attended the Congress farewell ceremony, held under the theme “Science Communication, Popularization and Its Extension (Reach) in Urdu : the path to follow. “
Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir said: “In imparting science education and restoring knowledge to society, it is the responsibility of all educated people and the class. intellectual. They may not get any monetary benefit from it, but the work is satisfactory, ”he said while stressing the need to spread the scientific temperament among all classes of society.
In his farewell speech, the Pro Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard, Prof. Syed Iqbal Hasnain, highlighted local initiatives to tackle the challenges posed by climate change. “Climate change has become a huge problem and if not addressed immediately it can significantly damage the earth’s atmosphere and cause natural disasters,” he said. He further appreciated the CUK for holding the Scientific Congress and called for more science related programs to be organized in the future.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Vigyan Prasar, Dr Nakul Prshad said that next week they will give the idea of including Kashmiri language in the dissemination of scientific knowledge. “We will also support such initiatives in the future. You will be happy to know that we are including the Kashmiri language which would be used to make scientific literature available to people in remote areas of Kashmir, ”he said.
Addressing participants, former VC MANUU Prof. Aslam Pervez said language should not be the barrier when it comes to the dissemination of scientific knowledge.
The Vice-Chancellor of the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Prof. Shakeel Ahmad Ramshoo, said in his speech that scientific knowledge and temperament should be instilled in children from an early age so that they develop a taste for the subject. “Schools are the best place to educate children about science and its benefits,” he said.
The Registrar Prof M Afzal Zargar, while welcoming the delegates on the second day of the function, said the university was delighted to see the enthusiastic participation of the people in the initiative. “Language is important in people’s lives. It connects us with people to share knowledge. The mother tongue is the first language everyone learns at home. To educate people in their own language is the need of the moment, ”he said.
The Dean of the School of Media Studies and Organizing Secretary, Professor (Dr.) Shahid Rasool proposed the vote of thanks and expressed his satisfaction with the smooth running of the Congress. He thanked the senior officials of the University of Kashmir for their support to the Congress.
